1 Reserve on time

Reserving on time is really important if you want to get a good deal and not pay way more than you should. Remember that the cheapest spots are always booked first and some providers only let you book in advance and no later than two weeks before your departure. We advise you to book a parking space at least one week before your departure date so that you have a wider range of options at more affordable prices. You don't want to leave it last minute and pay a large fee for a car park miles from the airport.

2 Compare experiences of others

You may think you have found the perfect parking provider for you that offers the facilities you want at a price you can afford, but we always advise that you read the reviews first. An honest review from a customer that has already used the service is a great indicator as to whether this parking provider is worth booking and paying for. It can really help you make your decision if you are still unsure of which provider you want to go with. You may even notice some other aspects that you would not have taken into consideration in the first place. If you still find yourself with some queries, then you can contact us or view our FAQs.

3 Leave on time

One of the most stressful things is being late for your flight! Especially when you have Heathrow airport parking to consider as this can take a little extra time. You need to consider the possibility of traffic on the way to the airport and additional time to find your parking space. Furthermore, the airport can be quite busy when you arrive and you may have to queue to check-in or to go through security. We recommend leaving an extra hour early than you would if you weren't driving to the airport. You will be more relaxed knowing that you have time to park and still make it to your flight.

4 Find your parking spot quickly

A great tip for finding the car park quickly is it put the address of the parking provider into your navigation systems or Maps app so you can be sure you're going to the correct one. There are usually many different car parks in the area and you don't want to have issues if you enter the wrong car park! Another good tip is to print your reservation confirmation so that you have it ready upon entering the car park, this will speed up the process so you can be parking and flying in no time! Another recommendation is to keep the number and zone of your parking space near Heathrow Airport in your phone so that you don't forget where you have parked once you have returned from your trip. There's nothing worse than not being able to find car in a massive car park!

5 Mileage

Many parking providers will record your mileage in your presence once you have arrived at the car park. This is as a security measure to prevent accusations that the provider has been driving your vehicle whilst you have been away. If they do not record your mileage then it is advised to do so yourself just as a precaution. The chance of this happening is very low but it does not hurt to be safe so you don't have to stress about it on your holiday!

6 Upon return

There are several ways that you can make your return much less stressful so that you can get directly into your car and drive home after that long journey back to the airport. The first thing is to make sure you put your car keys in a safe location when you initially park it and to make note of that so you don't forget! The second thing is to contact your provider as soon as you have landed so they are aware that you will soon be needing your transfer back to your car, or your car driven around to the terminal if you have opted for Valet Parking. Another good tip is to make sure in advance that you have enough petrol in your vehicle so you don't have to worry about stopping at a petrol station on your journey home. Finally, jumper cables could be a good idea to have in your boot just in case your car has difficulties starting up again after having been sat in the car park unused for an extended period.

7 Do not leave valuable properties in sight

A great way to avoid your vehicle being broken into is to make sure you remove any valuables before you leave your car. That way if your vehicle were to encounter a thief, there would be nothing to take and your car would be at a much lower risk. This is of course a very unlikely situation as all providers have very secure car parks, but it's better to be safe than sorry, especially in car parks that may not have regular staff patrols. Removing the parcel shelf of your car is a good tip we can give you. The thief will immediately see that you have not bothered to leave anything valuable.
